From Brooklyn to Frogbridge

Earlier this month we had our annual company picnic at Frogbridge Resort in New Jersey. It is my favorite event of the year—when all the RIVA family gets together and brings their families (spouses, children, nieces, nephews—you name it!) to let loose and enjoy some fun in the sun.

We boarded two buses from the headquarters at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, and enjoyed a full day of activities.  From a pool to basketball tournaments to paddleboats, bumper boats and kayaking, competition began for who was the fastest and the sleekest. We also organized some activities for the kids, including: a lollipop race, piñata smashing, free throw competitions, a volleyball tournament and a water balloon toss. No complaints from the kids about there being nothing to do!

As with any fiesta, we made sure there was plenty of delicious BBQ and sweets, as we ate and danced in the sun during the perfect “not too hot, yet not too cold” weather. As a thank you to our employees, we wanted to help them get their kids prepped for the year, so we distributed backpacks for all going back to school in the fall, from Kindergarten through college. Read about it here.

Of course, what’s a party without some dancing? After lunch the DJ turned up the Arabian dance music and everyone worked the calories off with their moves. Soon we will be launching some of the footage on our YouTube channel. Look out for it!
